1. Reclining Bound Angle Pose
Use a bolster or prop up some cushions with a blanket to support your neck and head. Head is above the heart slightly in this position. Use blankets for comfort under arms. Legs can be in cross-legged position or knees can be out or straight legs onto the mat. A strap can be used for cross-legged position.
2. Supported Prone Twist
Sit cross-legged along side your bolster or a pile of folded blankets and pillow. Move your knees to slide your body into a twist to hug the bolster or blankets, head facing to the side facing the knees. After several minutes, alternate to the other side, moving the props to the other side of your body.
3. Supported Prone Twist (cont'd)
Move your knees forward and tuck them under to slide your body into a twist to hug the bolster or blankets. Your head is facing to the same side as the knees. After several minutes, alternate to the other side, moving the props to the other side of your body.
4. Supported Bridge Pose (Backbend)
Fold the blanket into a square-ish rectangle. Have it positioned so that you can sit on the one end and lie back onto the mat with top of the blanket fold just under the bottom of your should blades. Your arms should gently roll back to cactus arms or goal-post arms onto the ground. Coming out of this pose, windshield wiper the legs back and forth, giving yourself a nice stretch and slight twist.
5. Inversion (an adapted legs-up-the-wall pose)
Prop up a bolster or several blankets over three blocks for support. Lift the legs onto the bolster, and place a block between the calves near the ankles held there with a strap. This is to make sure the feet do not go outturned, but stay straight to draw energy downwards in a smooth channel. Legs can be bent or straight out, and lie back down with outstretched arms like a "t" shape.
6. Supported Savasana (Corpse Pose)
Place a bolster or rolled up blanket under the knees. Support the head and neck with a blanket. Cover oneself with a blanket if feeling chilly. Arms are out along one's side or on the belly.
